I was approached by a son and daughter (now all grown up) to make a piece of work for their Mum’s surprise 60th birthday present. They sent me an old photograph of them playing in their garden as children. I loved the image as they had been caught on camera trying to get up on the roof of their wendy house. I like images that give the impression of peeking in on a secret moment. Their is a fondness in the image as Ben helps his little sister up on the roof too.

The work was opened by their mum on her 60th birthday…‘I just wanted to send you a quick email to say how fantastic the artwork is and my mum absolutely loved it. She was bought to tears, which is always a good sign, and spent her party showing all her friends the amazing present!‘
