Sunbury Embroidery Gallery, Sunbury-On-Thames
I was invited by Sunbury Embroidery Gallery to take part in a two person exhibition, titled A Moment In Time. Here is some accompanying information from the Gallery’s newsletter,
‘From 7-26 October the Gallery hosted a Textile exhibition featuring two young contemporary Textile Artists; Stephanie Littlechild and Laura McCafferty. Laura admits to being personally driven to capture a moment from her own experience and to translate into often large scale works of art. Line drawing is the foundation of all her images of “Dare to be different” the largest piece in the show, inspired on a train journey in Japan has all the qualities Laura has become renowned for, clear observation of her subject capturing those one off moments in time adding humour and colour. An interesting little note: When approaching these two artists to exhibit at the Gallery, Stephanie was overwhelmed as Laura had been her inspiration
at college, to the point that she based her dissertation on Laura’s work. What a coincidence!‘
I showed a large collection of work including Dare to Be Different and Man with Tea and Plates. a note to mention, I hung this exhibition the morning that Origin opened. It was a busy day!
