Joe and Belle, is part of the Random Collection. This series of 11 different pieces was a chance to explore disconnected imagery following a year of making large-scale artworks, such as Young Card Players. This is a portrait of my friend Joe affectionately holding his dog Belle. The photograph was taken around the time of researching for The Crufts Misfits, when I was looking at human canine relationships. The line drawing is part of my own collection.
