I was invited by Millennium Galleries to show in the exhibition Best In Show. The aim of the show was to raise awareness for the Sheffield RSPCA. They asked could I make a piece of work with a dog in it…I took it a stage further. I staged a photo shoot of a group of friends and their dogs, I have a total of 11 dogs, 11 adults and 7 children. The artwork became my largest piece to date spanning 300x100cm. It took one month to complete. The making of the artwork was supported by Sheffield Millennium Galleries Trust and The Arts Council England. The artwork has since been exhibited at Origin 2007, Bath Fashion Museum, Wallner Gallery and shortlisted for a Wesley Barrell Craft Award in 2008.
This artwork is part of my own collection. However, you can see how this piece inspired a family to commission a similar artwork of their entire family in the Commission section of the website, under Family Commission.
