The Lone Raver is inspired by a guy I saw at a festival in 2007. He danced in the one spot for two days and was totally gone, away in his own world. I loved the whole scene- and wanted to capture him dancing on his grassy dance floor, under the mirror ball hanging from a tree, oblivious to everything. I wanted the colours to be dreamy and the sky to be almost psychedelic, every cloud being made from a different blue floral fabric. No other people feature in the piece, its as if the DJ is there just for him. This is the companion piece to The Brighton Donkeys, who were at the time seated facing him. Their empty seat is a way of inviting him to join them when he came round so he wasn’t alone. This piece is available for exhibition or to buy, please email for further information.
